My sophomore year at the Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature, I acted not only as a reporter but also as the associate broadcast director. After assisting a fellow reporter in a sit-down interview with then State Senator Randy McNally (now lieutenant governor), I found he had lacrosse sticks in his office. I asked if we could teach us how to play in the hallway on-camera, and to my surprise, he said yes.
